Supreme Court Visit

Hey everybody! Tricia is here to blog again (Ok., more like copy and paste from my own blog.) Just wanna share the picts of the Supreme Court visit since so many of you cannot make it. Thought it would be nice if everybody can know what we did there. Hahax...

Today, there was a Supreme Court visit and suppose to whole class 17 ppl got go but in the end only left 7 of us. The other courses pangseh oso. Went down to Supreme Court with Joyce, Dilyse, Lam, Amanda, Zhang Kai and JiaJun... Met Dennis Sim (the tutor in charged) and he left us alone to follow the tour cos he got meeting at 5pm.

The new Supreme Court damn new la. And cos cameras not allowed, i only took a pict of the toilet... So white right...

And after looking through those info board which are quite cool, we went on to tour the old Supreme Court.

And there was this sign which says "Some of the most notorious criminals came through this door". The van on it is called the "Black Maria" which transport criminals from prisons all over Singapore to the court for the hearing...

And he tour guide bang on the door and it opened! Shocked us.

Looking inside... The tour guide of that place awaits us...

This is where the "Black Maria" will park...

That is the guide who is acting as a prison guard.
(When police still wear shorts...)

The cells which holds criminals waiting for their hearings and trials.

Looking in... You see only a bench and a squat toilet...

That the poor little toilet at the corner...

Toilet flush is outside the cell.
Cos they dowan the prisoners to use the mechanics to escape or sth...

And the label the cells with the names.
This one was left behind.
Teo Chee Seng was sentenced to 4 years of jail because he fed his step-daughter who was an infant medical oil when she did not stop crying and she died. Thus he had committed homicide. The prosecutor found this to be too light a sentence and appealed to the courts for a heavier one. And he is now serving 7 years of jail.

We left the place via the route criminals take when they have to go up to the courts.

And ta-da. You reach the Court of appeal.
Our next guide is a acting as a lawyer...

The green part is where the lawyers sit.

And the accused will sit in that glass box chained to sth...

And if you ever kenna trialed, your parents and friends and KPO people will sit there...

Dilyse and ZhangKai are on trial?

And they actually look happy about it?!

YingWai is now about to testify against ZhangKai for the horrible crime he did.
(Amanda and I tried to act as the lawyers...)

*Change of roles* Lam and I are now sobbing for our poor friend ZhangKai who is convicted... Boo Hoo Hoo~ (And Joyce is happy about it?)

The guide commented that the group of us seem to be having so much fun role-playing... Hahax... DTRM02 spirit!

And the tour continues to the corridors of the Supreme Court...

Police Post? Its actually a library and it is dome shaped inside.
Sadly, we cant go in...

And now we go onto the Chief Justice's chambers...

Something old found on the table. Wonder how much if i sell it... Hmmm...

The next guide acts as the orderly who works for the chief justice.

Heard that the furnitures in the room are specially designed.

That is the CJ's table. So big right...

And pictures all around the room...

Before air-con was invented, these holes here helps to ventilate the place...

And CJ have special priveledges. A personal lift that travels down to his garage (which is only 1 storey below his office)
And i wonder why anybody complains when i want to take the lift when its 4 storeys up from where i am? Unfair treatment! I wanna complain!

(PS. Isn't the CJ pampered? he has his own personal lift, toilet and the court he is sitting in is just separated from his chambers but a door!)

The next guide is the architect to the place...

Familiar? Its the statue on at the top of the supreme court.
The scales is a symbol of fair treatment and the sword is power of law. The woman kneeing next to Justice is showing a plea for help. The person to the right of the Justice, symbolizes the people who write the law and the people who carry it out [aka Minister] To the extreme left, of the triangle, the man is being bitten by a 2 headed snake, showing what will happen if the sentence is not just. To the extreme right, the family is happy and has good harvest and good cattle. Showing how law can help everybody.

Down to the foyer...

Under this foundation stone, there is a time capsule that contains newspapers dated one day before the stone was laid. There are also coins and some inportant artifects buried along with it. The time capsule will be opened in year 3000. Which means, i'll never see it...

Stepping out of the courts. I see the new supreme court! Btw, the UFO like thing on the top is the Court of Appeal. Which is the highest ranked court in Singapore and so being at the top of the building is a symbol for its power...

And on the other side is Pandang and you can also see the Flyer...

Had great fun today! Thankful for the chance to visit the place before it is converted into a museum. Its quite a waste don't you think? That such a place with such a long history is no longer in use. Oh well. At least its still there...

This blog is as good as dead. But since i blogged on my own blog, i shall just add sth here as well. (So if you go see my post on my blog today, you will see the same picts and the same captions and stuff... Im lazy ok. Lolx.)

Today's class for IHRO is totally fun and exciting! We were learning about cocktail and mocktail. So of course, there was a live demostration!

Right at the front of the lecture hall, there placed a whole table of ingredients and many cheaper liqour... Hahax.

And our lecturers for the day are Mr. Baljit and his assistants Paul and Sarah.
Many thanks to them for the fun and excitement! ^_^

And for the first time i sat in this lecture hall, everybody are crowded in front!

And the lecture starts!

After demostration of different drinks, students were asked/volunteered to try out being a bartender! (PS. We got to drink the various things they concocted. Even though we were slightly underage)

And guess who was first? Its... Mr. FartFace, Darryl Kok!

He did everything correct except sticking his finger into the drink when Mr. Baljit ask him to taste it. (He meant the Angostura Bitter but Darryl took it as the drink.)

And Ta-da! That is Darryl and his Singapore Sling!

Apart from Darryl, Lam went down as well!

But she was much distracted by her urgent need to pee.
Her drink was sth like a mint and some alcohol thing. Very refreshing!

Huining tried to sabo me to go down but she got called upon instead.
She had to make a sort of mocktail. Think is Spirit of Singapore.

And she demostrate her excellant skill in shaking the drink.

And here is the drink she made!

JiaJun got sabo-ed as well.
He skillfully(?) mix the drink! Its Bloody Mary...

And you can guess how it tastes like based on Gwen's expression. (Personally, i did not like it much cos it taste so tomato -- which is not my fav vege, and chilli -- which i cannot really stand, salt and peper.)

Alvina also gave it a try!

And she shake the drink really hard!

Greetings 02-ians !

It's been a long time since an entry was made.

Well just some brief updates on what happened ever since the new semester started!

To kick things off, we had a Mid-Autumn Celebration where mooncakes were contributed and shared!!.

Don't you just miss those lovely-oh-so-sinful-to-eat mooncakes!

NEXT was the Children's Day celebration. YES. we celebrated children's day.
Sweets were contributed and shared among the class. Some lucky coursemates got a share too !
No pictures though, cause we were all too excited and hungry.

NEXT is something that all 02-ians should be proud of.
Our very own symbol, our identity; the class jersey !

Hello everybody! The honeymoon period have already ended.
Its the 2nd week of Semester 2. Hope you have gotten use to it already...
The waking up early, hectic time table and heavy workload.
The teachers are real nice as most of you have concluded.

The venue and timing have all been planned and confirmed....

Those who have any BBQ utensils or leftover charcoal, please contact me as we may need them. By doing this, we can cut down on costs! Thus, meaning we will be further away from hitting our budget which leads to you guys not forking out any $$.

Yes, we are trying to avoid extra costs.

Oh and by the way, if any of you guys got any suggestion for food and beverages, please tag on the board or contact Gwendolyn or me directly.

Although PTH is nearing and im sure everyone is stress out, we still need to have abit of fun in our lives... So my suggestion is a class outing. The problem is, where to? Preferably somewhere where we can spend that $7 per person class fund. Its still available right? Lolx. Even if its not, DTRM02have not have a whole class present outing since the cruise. OKAY, so we went ta catch alone. . . .SADLY, not everyone made it lar.
Only, alvina, gwen gwen, shuyi, ying wai, zhi zhongie, ah hao, leo, jia jun and darryl made it.

ANYWAY, here's a little about the movie.

Pim buries her past in Thailand and starts her new life with a caring and lovable husband, Vee, in Korea. Their marriage life seems to be all too normal with a decent and stable job, great friends, etc. All seems well…That is before Pim receives a telephone call from Thailand.

She is informed that her mother has fallen very ill due to a yet un-diagnosable disease. Pim and Vee travel back to her hometown to be by her mother’s side. From the first moment she arrives in Thailand Pim experiences extremely vivid flashbacks of painful memories that she has tried so hard to forget. But there is something different about these flashbacks. The flashes conjure up a sense of innate warmth that is similar to the feeling of “someone” close to her.

Pim finds herself constantly haunted by these lingering feelings of attachment that compels her to confront her deep dark emotions that eventually lead her to remember that she has a twin sister. Now as her memories slowly comes back and the pieces of the puzzle begin to start to fall into place Pim eventually recognizes just what that innate sense of warmth is…It is the feeling of being attached to another person by an organ that bonds two lives in such a way that she could never be free.
But that would be impossible? What had to be done was finished; ended along time ago. Unless... Pim is not alone!

And this is just the beginning of a horrifying realization that Pim will never be allowed to ever forget… what does not want to be forgotten!

WELL, overall, an exciting show that classmates should catch together, to huddle up, watch, sprout vulgarities( i bet we said like 983475983475983475983457389475394579 F*** words and more) and throw popcorns.

And then, we had carl's junior . .then then, we weent up to vivo's deck, sat and chatted. We bitched, told jokes, horror stories and had long chats. AND AND, nobody dared to go home lar. . .BUT we still did, a little before mid night! thanks alvina for the ridie home, and for the random wriggle that made all of us screamed like mad.

EH, next time movie, everyone go okay! den we F together. . . HUAT AH!

Anyway, good job on Tuesday. The CD presentation was well-done.
Good luck for PTH. I still struggling to get the best layout possible. Lolx.

My main point for blogging is to ask about chalet.
As you guys no doubt know, holiday is just round the corner.
